Private Groups in Oura Teams
Create a New Group
In Oura Teams, select “Groups” in the left-hand menu, then select “New Group” in the upper-right hand corner.
You can now customize your group:
- Add a group name. Keep in mind that any member added to this group will be able to see the Group Name
- If you opt to make your group “Anonymous,” members who join will receive an automatically generated name (example: Member 1) and their email addresses will remain hidden at all times
- If you opt to make your group “Private”, only the creator of the group will have access to the group and any associated member data. The creator of the group can invite additional coaches or admins to the group from the Group Settings page. For more information on Private Groups, see the Private Groups in Oura Teams section below
- Select the data access option best suited for your group
- All Data: Provides access to members' historical data back to the date each member began using their Oura Ring
- Participation Period: Provides access to members' data back to the date each member joined the Oura Teams group
Keep in mind that once you've created a group, you cannot change any of the configured settings. Once a group has been created, the settings toggle will be read-only and if different settings are required, a new group must be created.
Manage Your Group Members
Inviting Group Members
If you're trying to invite members to join an Oura Teams Group, first click “Groups” in the left-hand menu of the Oura Teams page (shown below):
Next, click the ellipsis associated with the desired group, and select “Manage Members” in the menu that appears:
Within the Manage Members page, click “Invite New Member” (located in the upper right of your screen). You can now enter one or more members' email addresses and click Invite. Note: If a group has the “Anonymous” setting toggled on, then individual invites via email is not available.
Alternatively, you can send members an invitation via website link. This link will direct new members to a webpage where they can accept terms and join your group. This invite link can be enabled or disabled at any time by an Admin.
New members will receive an email asking them to share their data and accept terms. If they choose to accept, they will be directed to cloud.ouraring.com to log in. Once they've completed these steps, they will appear in your group list.
Removing Group Members
To remove a member from a group, click the ellipses on the group you wish to manage and then click “Manage Members.” From there, you can click 'Remove' on the right-hand side of the members whom you wish to remove.
If you change your mind, you can always invite these members again by sending an invite link or clicking “Invite New Member” at the bottom of the 'Manage Members' page.
Private Groups in Oura Teams
In Oura Teams private groups can be used to limit the access of group data to only specified coaches and admins within your Oura Teams organization. Once a private group is created, only the original coach or admin who created the group will initially have access.
To add additional coaches or admins from your organization to the private group, visit the Group Settings page of the private group. On the Group Settings page, locate the Private Mode section and click 'Add another coach'.
If added to a private group by the creator of the group, the coach or admin will be granted one of the two roles:
- Viewer: they can access the group
- Manager: they have the same capabilities as a viewer, but can also add, edit, or remove coaches from the group. The creator of the group is a manager by default
